of information system has become an important
symbol to measure a modern enterprise
management. At the same time, the information
technology has also became the totally
new drive for breakthrough in various
management bottleneckin an enterprise.
Our company has came up with the motto:
¡°Using the information technology, increase:
the usage of network throughout the company,
the operation flow management level, automated
office level and automated control of
production line spot level. It is so as
to ensure the continual growth of the
company and remain as the upper hand of
competition¡±. The strategy is to set construction
of information system as a target. With
the guide of this strategy, we had achieved
remarkable outcomes by going towards the
information age.
Basic
structure of Information System:
Our
company uses GB class optical-fiber network
as its backbone. Owning dedicated lines
connecting both companies in Shenzhen
and Hong Kong, it provides voice, fax
and data transfer services for company¡¯s
internal network. The affiliated interconnection
between Topway Communications and ShenZhen
Custom has also become bond factory¡¯s
link of data exchange. The 2400 network
ports provided enabled 1700 computers
to connect to the network in the company.
Currently, we are reviewing and experimenting
the wireless network so as to set up the
wireless network in the company in the
future to ease the network connection.
To
ensure that our information system network
is secured safely, we have used both Checkpoint
Firewall and Trend Micro Antivirus software.
The utilization of the protection software
has brought stability and smoothness to
the company¡¯s network over the years.
Our
company has been holding up the principle
of respecting knowledge and copyrights,
therefore, our company has signed enterprise
agreement with many software companies.
Of those companies, we have maintained
close contacts with IBM, SAP, PRO/E Minitab,
AutoDesk and more.
The
Structure and Application of Information

1.SAP as the main business
enterprise resources management:
Since
April 2000, we have started to implement
SAP system platform and have the world¡¯s
top management consultant corporation
PriceWaterhouse&Coopers as our acting
consultant. By adopting IBMRS6000 as operation
platform, SAP R/3 4.5B system has gone
online successfully after 6 months. The
system covers 6 modules, which are Sales
and Distribution£¨SD£©, Material Management£¨MM£©,
Production and Planning£¨PP£©, Financial
Institution£¨FI£©, Assets Management£¨AM£©,
Cost Plan£¨CO£©.
As
the application of SAP continues to grow£¬we
have developed the country¡¯s most unique
bond factory system, senior decision-making
statement systemand overall budget management
system in 2001 and 2003. We have also
succeeded in applying the MRP function
at important project groups like HDD,
ELEC and more.
2.FIS
as the production line spot management
system
Factory
Information System (FIS), the production
line spot management system, is a real-time
information system that our company plan
and develop to follow up the pace of the
modern and high-efficiency manufacturing
models. It has tracking ability and control
over the whole practical production process
like the data processing of production,
material, testing, techniques, facility,
personnel and more.
The
development of Kaifa¡¯s FIS system commenced
in 1998. With constant maintenance and
upgrading£¬the FIS system is now implemented
in all dominant production lines. The
system not only collect the real-time
raw data from the production process,
but also does relevant analysis on the
data and has effective control over abnormal
phenomenon that is found during the production
process. Through this, we have achieved
3 objectives: paperless plant, the unqualified
products will not be delivered to the
customers and data is one of product¡¯s
basic properties. The FIS has received
approval and good recognition from our
customers like IBM, Western Digital, Maxtor,
Hitachi, Enel and other international
well-known companies.
3.Lotus
as the main automated office system
Since
1998, we have been using Lotus Domino
Notes platform to develop and launch an
automated office system. The functions
of the system includes: public bulletin,
department bulletin, BBS, FAQ, train window,
director mailbox, human resource management
department and director office operation
windows and etc. Of those, the public
bulletin covers: electronic bulletin board,
e-forms, employee KPI assessment, standardization
information, company telephone list, company
policy, ISO9000 documents and so on. At
the moment, there are a total of 300 sets
of workflow in the system.
The
application of OA system has enhanced
the flow of office work. In fact, its
powerful document management function
has brought the company¡¯s information
management to a new higher level.
Besides
the OA system as mentioned above, there
are also electronic human resources system
(EHR), library management system, rear
¨Cservice management system and training
system.
The
construction of information system is
a long-term process that needs constant
improvement and perfection. We will realize
reasonable configuration for information
resource and make total use of these resource
values. We will aim to continue to enhance
working concepts and ideas, intensify
planning, serve for the manufacturing
process, realize the flow of information,
provide a satisfactory service and to
provide a safe, reliable and stable system
for all levels of personnel in the company.

the company¡¯s management and overall competition
through the construction of information
